Today is Oatmeal cookie day, naturally when you think of Oatmeal cookies you probably think of Oatmeal Raisin cookies. Why wouldn’t you they’re the best! I see you staring at me full of judgment. I have heard it all before, “Oatmeal Raisin cookies are deceiving, expecting a bite of gooey half melted chocolate and getting a raisin”. So, what you’re telling me is your mad at the raisin not the cookie. I hate to be the one who points this out but, raisins look nothing like chocolate chips, unless your mom used cheap chips in her cookies…. Just Sayin’.
Chocolate Chip cookies are good for the first few minutes out of the oven, warm and soft. However soon after cooling, they get hard and burst into crumbs with the first bite. Oatmeal Raisin cookies stay soft for days, so you get that fresh Baked experience much longer than with Chocolate Chip.
I haven’t even gotten into the nutritional benefits. I will give you this, at least Chocolate Chip is better than Sugar cookies, what a waist.
So Happy Oatmeal Cookie Day.
BTW have you tried these, Oatmeal, Pecan and Chocolate Chip, they’re good.
