I’m a dad and here’s what I want for Father’s Day.

Struggling to figure out what to get dad for Father’s Day? As a dad this would suit me fine and I’m not alone.

I have received some interesting Father’s Day gifts over the years, ceramic ashtray, fine art refrigerator magnets and some beautiful macaroni art, just to name a few. It’s not that I didn’t like any of those gifts, I loved them all and they all hold great sentimental value for me. As I grow older my perfect Father’s Day gift is a steak. Yep, a good old ribeye steak, thick and juicy grilled over an open fire.

I’m not alone, A survey by Omaha Steaks shows that 65% of dads would enjoy receiving a steak as a Father’s Day gift. We will even cook it ourselves, according to the survey 53% of dads plan to barbecue on Father’s Day. After all it is kind of our job as dads to commandeer the grill. There does seem to be a little disagreement on what type of steak, 23% of dads want to eat filet mignon on Father’s Day while 20% of dads want to eat a Rib-Rye steak and only 18% of dads want to eat a T-Bone steak. I have to think dads on the east coast are skewing this survey, it’s hard to believe that the filet would top the list. I’s a good steak but too lean for my taste, I need my steak to be juicy, leaving something in the plate to drag your fires through.

If you want to see a happy dad this Father’s Day, take my advice, ditch the tie, and bring on the Ribeye.
